Football has the power to connect communities and promote social inclusion. Our microsite provides you with an overview of excellent community initiatives from across Europe. The SIDFOOT project partners want to inspire, support and connect you.
SIDFOOT is a pan-European programme that is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. Real Betis Balompié Foundation coordinates the project. European Football for Development Network (NL), Universitat de les Illes Balears, Liverpool City Council, Aalborg BK, Wiener SC, Save the Dream, Brasov Metropolitan Agency for Sustainable Development, Fare are project partners.
The aim of the SIDFOOT project is to promote physical activity and social inclusion in disconnected neighbourhoods through sport. Community drivers play a key role in the SIDFOOT methodology. As a first step in the project, the consortium has identified successful initiatives in which sport has been used as a tool to promote social inclusion and a healthier life for the population living in disconnected areas.
