Half Term Football Soccer Camp

Kingsley United is a community project and registered charity, which uses football as tool to engage with young people. The Football Club was established to divert them from involvement in crime, anti-social behaviour, gang related activity, serious violence, serious organised crime.

The initiative is focused on children and youth between the ages of 7 – 10 years.

The club is based in Lodge Lane a hotspot location for serious and organised / gang-related crime in Toxteth, the most deprived 10% of the country with 1 in 3 children living in poverty and young people in this area facing multiple disadvantage. The young people are at risk of being drawn into gangs, anti-social behaviour, and criminal exploitation. They have low self-esteem and aspirations.

The projects sought to achieve the following objectives:

  • Engage disadvantaged young people in Toxteth
  • Educate youngsters on healthy lifestyles and opportunities available to them
  • Raise awareness of the consequences of getting involved with crime and anti-social behaviour, gangs and carrying knives
  • Motivate to make positive changes to children and youth lives
  • Highlight the importance of respect for parents, teachers, police and coaches
  • Increase in activity and fitness levels, and overall health and wellbeing
